Torrey M. Owens, MS President and Founder
As a Leadership Development Specialist and Management Consultant she provides consulting services to engineering, information technology, restaurant, hospitality, financial services and the temporary staffing industries. As a strategic partner, she works with clients to implement solutions to achieve long-term positive results.
Torrey began her career over 15 years ago in Human Resources for a defense contracting company. As an HR Generalist she developed a passion for coaching and developing managers to enhance work relationships and employee performance to meet the organization and team goals. She later transitioned into training and organizational development supporting an international temporary staffing company. Her specialty continued to grow as she helped to build a Corporate University and she managed the leadership development efforts for executives to front-line leaders.
Her expertise is working with leaders to develop skills and gain awareness to lead high performing teams and organizations. As a consultant, coach and partner with executive leaders and their teams, she works to create strategic change by developing current and future leaders. She designs and delivers various customized leadership and managerial development programs as well as coaching individual leadersí or teams to achieve their goals.
Ms. Owens received her Masterís degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Baltimore and a Bachelorís degree in Psychology, minor Business Management, from University of Toledo.
The primary areas of concentration for Tonyís work are with senior leadership teams and operational management teams. His expertise in developing functional teamwork with in-tact workgroups combined with the ability to design and implement management system elements are a powerful combination aimed at enhancing the performance of the entire organization.
At the heart of all of the transformation efforts and executive coaching engagements he undertakes is the opportunity to work with executives, managers and individuals with one intent, to explore, understand and realize their full potential. This is the one element that every client, whether company or individual, shares in order for an engagement to materialize.
Prior to starting his consulting practice, Tony served as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Vice President of Innovations for Allegis Group Inc., a global provider of staffing and consulting services with over 300 locations and revenues in excess of $3 billion. His responsibilities included all aspects of organizational transformation within Allegis Group as well as oversight of Allegis Learning, the Allegis Corporate University. During his tenure with Allegis, the company grew from $300 million in sales to over $3 billion.
Tony reported to the President of Allegis and led the transformation effort of Allegis from a centralized and extremely entrepreneurial organization to a decentralized and systematically managed company. This was accomplished through the design and implementation of the Allegis Group Strategic Management System. The Management System created forums and business processes for fact based decision making within Allegis that led to cost savings in the IT department in excess of $34 million in a 24 month period and a ninety percent increase in productivity over a 12 month period while reducing headcount by over 30%.
Tony was also responsible for staffing and providing governance for all major business process reengineering initiatives in Allegis. Selected results include; reducing unemployment costs by over $5 million over one year, eliminating paper recordkeeping of personnel files with the implementation of a document imaging system resulting in annualized cost elimination and avoidance of over $500,000 while increasing data integrity and accessibility.
Tonyís experience prior to Allegis Group includes working in the telecommunications industry in a technical and managerial capacity, managing multiple restaurant startups, sole proprietorship of landscaping and catering companies as well as sales experience in financial services and telecommunications.
